A small comparative study on the nature of texture, making and materials.

On the left, we have the timber lined space at our latest project, Laboratorio Espresso. This timber was salvaged from the construction process taking place on Garnethill to make the new building at Glasgow School of Art

The Seona Reid Building, designed by Steven Holl Architects and JM Architects, used the timber panels now lining our cafe space to be the mould in which their concrete structures were poured.

The images on the right are just a small study of the varying texture of the repetitive timber shutter in the new building.
