2007 saw DO win an open international competition to bring feature illumination to Marks Barfield's Brighton i360, which will be situated at the launch point of the ruined West Pier.
A glazed pod will transport 200 visitors close to the top of the elegant 180m high spire, while the historic esplanade pavilion buildings, originally decorated by Owen Jones, will be fully restored and incorporated into the visitor experience.
The feature illumination will introduce subtle shifting colour to travel with the pod, while the top of spire will appear to breathe at a human pace.
After a long delay and a series of design revisions, this project is now under construction and due to open to the public in Spring/Summer 2016. We are excited that we will be returning to Brighton in the near future to complete the lighting installation with the team.
