Mossgiel Road, Glasgow

This project adds a delightful garden room to the back of a traditional victorian home in Glasgow's Southside.  We worked closely with the clients to distill their aspirations and values, adding a small amount of internal space to their property, which is crafted in such a way as to draw light deep into the terraced plan, reaching out into the garden to enjoy light and connection from the cooking and dining areas.

Through collaboration with David Narro Associates, we have managed to dissolve the major structural elements into bamboo like screens supporting the roof structures and glazed areas.  The kitchen, dining and living areas are subtly zoned to define spaces without boundaries.

The outside of the extension is subtly clad in grey cladding panels, using a varied palette of greens at soffit and window reveals, which are complimented by folding sliding glazed doors and hardwood garden elements.
